British High Commission has solicited for adequate security protection from the Bauchi State Police command to carry out humanitarian services in the state scheduled to commence next month.
The Regional Overseas Security Manager with British High Commission in Abuja, Mr. Javier Teofilo-Sanchez tendered the request Wednesday when he paid a courtesy visit to the State Commissioner of Police, Baba Tijjani in his office.
Mr. Javier disclosed that the Commission will start supporting developmental and humanitarian programs in Bauchi and Gombe states in order to provide social services to their communities.
“We are soliciting for adequate security protection from the state police command and the Commissioner of Police to enable our team carries out its assignment which would commence this August”, he said.
Bauchi State Commissioner of Police, Mr. Baba Tijjani has in a remark assured the British High Commission of the Command’s maximum support towards providing safe and secured environment in the state.
Tijjani explained that Bauchi is relatively calm and peaceful for a long time now compared to its neighboring states. He however advised the commission to officially inform the Inspector General of Police of their request for onward approval.
