*PDP picks 8, APC 4 councilorship seats

Opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate, Engineer Salasi Nuhu Musa, was in theearly hours of Monday, September 27, at about 4:50am, declared winner of the Chikun Local Council elections, conducted on Saturday September 25, 2021.
Announcing the results at the Chikun LGA KADSIECOM office, the Local Government Returning Officer, Dr. Sanusi Gambo said that PDP defeated the ruling party, All Progressives Congress (APC), candidate Honourable Suleiman Liman by 19,402 to 14,829 votes to emerge winners.
From the breakdown of the results, PDP won eight out of the 12 wards in the LGA, leaving APC with four.
According to him, having secured the maximum number of votes, PDP’s Engineer Salasi is declared winner and returned elected.

The collation and announcement of results at the LGA SIECOM office commenced on Sunday morning but lasted till early hours of Monday after suffering several set backs from party agents.
