Former Sultan of Sokoto Alhaji Ibrahim Dasuki is dead.
Alhaji Dasuki was said to have died in a private hospital in Abuja last night according to family sources who spoke with New Nigerian early this morning.
Ibrahim Dasuki age 93, is the father of the embattled former National Security Adviser (NSA), Muhammed Sambo Dasuki, who is being held incustody on charges of corruption and gun running.
Dasuki, the first Sultan from the Buhari line of the house of Uthman Dan Fodio was deposed as Sultan of Sokoto by the regime of former and late military Head of State, General Sani Abacha, in 1996.
Before his ascendence to the throne, Dasuki was the Baraden Sokoto.
He would be buried today in Kaduna after Islamic funeral prayers at Sultan Bello Mosque, Unguwan Sarki.
