An unknown gunmen have kidnapped the Cross River Commissioner for Water Resources, Mr. Gabriel Odu Oji in a restaurant along Mayne Avenue in Calabar South Local Government Area.
He was kidnapped in the early hours of Sunday. The state governor had at the weekend directed the relocation of the Anti-crime squad to Calabar South Local Government Area to stem the spate of cult or armed robbery activities.
According to sources, Oji had told the governor, Senator Ben Ayade, that he was travelling to Obudu to inspect a water project in his home town.
However New Nigerian Correspondent who went round some major streets in Calabar South local government saw the presence of highly armed security personnel including Mayne Avenue where he was kidnapped.
There is no news as to his whereabouts as at the time of filing this report.
