BREAKING: Flood ravages Jema’a community in Kaduna

About twenty houses were on Friday ravaged by flood in Hayi Gada, Jema’a local government fulfilling the forecast of National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) that eight Councils in the State may be affected by flood.
.An eye witness said the rain started at about 10 am and lasted till around 4:43pm thereby destroying houses and property worth millions of naira.
Residents of the affected community have cried out to government for assistance to urgently come to their aid, adding that they have no place to sleep with their Children.
Asemo Adekunle, one of the victims called for government immediate intervention to rescue the affected people in view of the present reality in the country.
“We have been experiencing flood for the past 3 years, even though there was no flood last year,” Asemo explained.
When asked if they were not aware of the earlier warning by the State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA), advicing people living around the river bank to vacate, he responded, “We did not hear of the warning.”
