Boxing: NIgeria’s Referees Converge On Kaduna For Ayandibu Sponsored 3-day Workshop

A three-day boxing seminar has commenced at the Ahmadu Bello Stadium, Kaduna to update referees’ technical ability.


Referees and other stakeholders from different states of the country have converged to up their skills for the good of the game.
The seminar is sponsored by the Northwest representative and Technical Director in the board of the Nigeria Boxing Federation and Chairman Kaduna Boxing Association, Mr Femi Ayandibu as part of contributions to boxing development in the country.
Mr Femi Ayandibu said, “upgrading the capacity of the referees will translate into further  growth of boxing in our country”.
He however, confirmed the the shift in date of the national open championship earlier billed for Kaduna state from March 6-13, to now hold march 23-30 at the gymnasium hall of Ahmadu Bello stadium, Kaduna.
Earlier in the week, a circular which was signed by Obot U.M., Secretary General of the Nigeria Boxing Federation, sent to States Boxing Association informed them of postponement of the national men & women open championship billed for Kaduna from 6-13 March, 2022.
The  circular  stated that, “the Nigeria Boxing Federation has received repeated calls from state boxing associations of their willingness to participate in the championship but lack of cash backing to enable to attend.
