*CDS, Service Chiefs sympathize with victims

The Chief of Defense Staff (CDS), General Christopher Musa led Service Chiefs to Maiduguri on sympathy and condolences visits to the Shehu of Borno, Alhaji Abubakar Garbai Ibn Umar El Kanemi and the people and Government of Borno State over the recent flood disaster that ravaged Maiduguri city.

He was accompanied by the service chiefs, COAS, CAS, CNS and other top military officials, who landed at Maiduguri Air Force Base on Thursday afternoon.

However, their visit is coming just four days after President Bola Tinubu’s visit to Borno State on Monday last week, while the First Lady, Sen. Oluremi Bola Tinubu represented by the wife of the Vice President, Kashim Shettima was also in Maiduguri on Wednesday last week.

The CDS sympathized with flood victims and pledged full support to the state government, while praying for God mercy over the incident never to reoccur again

While at the Government House Maiduguri during their courtesy call on Governor Zulum, the CDS commiserated with the governor and consoled those who lost their lives in the flood disaster.

The CDS tasked troops in the North East to get the remaining elements of terrorists out of the North East zone, while commending them for a job well done during the Maiduguri flood.

He assured the troops that their of welfare packages will be adjusted to boost their morale and motivate them out their best at work professionally.

Earlier, Alhaji Mohammed Indimi donated N1 billion, Musa Kwankwaso donated N50 million, Ansarudden Society donated N10 million, Kaduna State government led by the Deputy Governor, Dr. Hadiza Balarabe donated N100 million, while Niger State Governor led a delegation and donated N250 million.
