A Non-Governmental Organisation, Northeast Regional Initiatives (NERI) in collaboration with Yunusari Local Government Council in Yobe State has rehabilitated and commissioned a general view centre at Garin Gada; fully equipped with solar system and other equipment.
According to investigations by New Nigerian, the aim is to educate the youths on dangers of drugs abuse that is capable of influencing them to join the activities of the insurgents and also to enlighten them on the importance of having peace in their communities.
While commissioning the centre, the District Head of Garin Gada Lawan Abubakar Lawan applauds the effort of NERI in rehabilitating the centre which he said will help in bringing the youths together and have a common goal that will develop the community.
In a related development, the NERI had also drilled and commissioned a solar powered borehole to residents of Yunusari town of the local government to ease their water scarcity for both human and animal consumption.
The Councilor representing the ward, Dawa A. Doma thanked the local government and NERI for restoring their hope which long ago could not be met.
While receiving the keys to the borehole, the District Head promised to set up a maintenance committee that will oversee the affairs of the borehole and report back, promising that his community will take good care of the gesture provided to them.
