A 4-man Committee from the Radiology Registration Board of Nigeria, RRBN) has arrived College of Health Technoloy Pankshin for the accreditation of its Radiology Course.
Our Correspondent reported that the Board’s team of professionals would take three days, Dec, 5 – 7, in its onerous tasks of assessing the radiology course of the College.
The Committee headed by the Board’s Registrar/CEO, Dr Okpaleke M. S was expected to scrutinize what the college’s radiology department looks like in terms of its standard especially the facilities and staff strength.
The Provost of the College, Dr Jonathan Daboer, who received the visitors in company of the Registrar, Yusuf Selchang and other principal staff, took them round the school of radiology for the desired assessment and needed accreditation.
He expressed his happiness over their visit and described it as “very historic’’ and  “encouraging’’ given the college’s desire to have the course accredited for recognition and assumption of full status as a standard course.
The Provost had lamented the non-accreditation of some of the courses of the institution due to the fact that it was not operating at its permanent site.
He said since 1976 when college was established, it has been unfortunately operating at a temporary site which has hampered or slowed down its developmental efforts.
According to him the greatest challenge of the college was the lack of permanent site, non-accreditation of some viable courses and lack of proper funding.
He expressed the hope that the Governor Simon Lalong rescue team administration would gracious facilitate the College movement to its permanent site in distant time.
Daboer thanked the Governor for the release of funds for the upgrade of facilities at the Radiology department for the ongoing accreditation exercise by the RRBN.
