Bishop of the Anglican Diocese of Kaduna, RT Rev. Timothy Yahaya has decried the increased prevailing state of insecurity in Kaduna State where helpless residents especially rural dwellers are attacked, maimed and killed by armed men.
According to the Bishop, urgent and drastic action must be taken to checkmate future occurrence of such heartless killing.
The Bishop, in his keynote address delivered at the 20th Synod held in Kaduna, urged the state government to as a matter of urgent importance, fulfill its pre-elections campaign promises to the electorate which he said when actualized would go a long way in alleviating the current hardship felt by people particularly the downtrodden.
Bishop Yahaya listed promised plans by Governor Nasir El-Rufai administration to revitalize textile and Peugeot factories in the state as a kind gesture which he believed if fulfilled, would provide job opportunities to teeming jobless youth in the state and beyond.
The clergyman however commended the state Governor for sustaining the reviving of the Zaria water projects despite paucity of funds being experienced in the country due to decline in states allocations from federal government due to decline in oil revenue.
He said if the water project is completed as promised, job opportunities would be available for jobless youths especially those resident in Zaria.
