The Bishop of Kaduna Diocese Anglican Communion,  Rev. Father Timothy Yahaya has said the only way the present anti-corruption war can succeed is for the President Buhari-led administration to approach it holistically to ensure total overhaul of the social system.

Speaking to New Nigerian in Kaduna, Bishop Yahaya noted that corruption was the product of greed in the country, stressing, “Corruption must be fought in a holistic manner not selective anti-corruption war because it will not give Nigeria the type of result the country needs.
“Nobody has report of how NITEL, Railway and many other organizations with thousands of Nigerians in their payroll drawn into the streets roaming aimlessly without doing anything for the development of the land.
“Look at the infrastructure in the nation’s higher institutions, they do not commiserate with unimaginable amount of money sung into them to ensure qualitative research and other things that will ensure rapid development.

“Federal and State ministries of work cannot construct roads but companies are given contracts running to billions of naira without any tangible result to show for it.

“Why are there ghost workers in the public sector while nothing can be heard in the private sector? All because the right thing is not being done but tribalism, religious bigotry and other social vices have become the order of the day in the country other than merit”.

On insecurity, he said, stakeholders should be engaged in order to find a lasting solution to the problem in the country.

Speaking on the last National Conference in the country, Bishop Yahaya noted that any resolution that is important for the country should be implemented while others that do not meet the present need should be discarded.

For his mission in the diocese, he said he wants to have constructive engagements with all religious bodies in order to work for peace, unity and development of the country.

He added, “I want a Church that is self sustaining, propagating and self financing to spread the gospel and touch the lives of members for a better living standard.”
