The Bichi Unit Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps, Mr. Yakubu Z. Lar has cautioned drivers to limit their speed and avoid overloading along Kano-Katsina highway due to the ongoing new road construction as well as the filling of the potholes on the other lane.
He gave the warning while inspecting the ongoing potholes filling on the old lane of Kano-Katsina highway in a chat with our correspondent, adding that whenever there is ongoing road constructions or repairs, there is the need for the drivers and other vehicle owners to be careful because there may be new diversions and heavy machines crossing.
Mr. Yakubu Z. Lar warned commercial vehicles drivers and those carrying families and relatives that the lives and property of their passengers are under their care, therefore they should always drive in a safe manner in order to ensure that all is well during and after journeys, while his officers would continue to patrol the roads and punish the erring road users which is the purpose of establishing the FRSC.
Furthermore, the commandant thanked the CCECC construction company for commencing the patholes filling along Kano-Katsina road as requested and opined that ghasty accidents would soon be reduced on the highway, assuring that his men are always ready to enlighten the drivers on the rules and regulations of road uses in order to sanitize transportation with optimum results.
A bus driver, Malam Dauda Muhammad Kunnawa who spoke to New Nigerian said that the officers and men of FRSC Bichi Unit are doing their best in enlightening the drivers that operate along Kano-Katsina road with success.
He commended the unit commander Mr.Yakubu Z. Lar and his team for their efforts towards reducing ghasty accidents along the said highway, and announced that the drivers are happy with the cordial relationship.
