Director-General, Centre for Islamic and Youth development, Omo’oba Rasheed Adesokan has asked Nigerians to be patient with the President Muhammadu Buhari-led administration in its bids to reposition Nigeria to the path of glory.
Omooba Adesokan gave the advice while delivering the bimonthly lecture of the Bodija Muslim Youth Forum titled: “Contemporary Muslim Youth: Choosing Role Models and Modeling their Roles in Ibadan.
According to him, it was unfortunate that Nigeria could be made to be passing through difficult situation for past six years under the past administration with all the sectors of the economy collapsing.
Omooba Adesokan pointed out that the present suffering and groaning of Nigerians as a result of the prolonged fuel scarcity and unstable electricity would soon become a thing of the past.
The DG stressed that with the situation in the country worsened in the last six years, there is no other option for Nigerian now than to be patient with the present administration for the country to move forward and regain its lost glory among the comity of nations.
“Nigerians will have to be patient or ordered to be patient. The situation has degenerated for the past six years and somebody came less than 11 months and we are expecting miracle. It is going to take course before things get better,” he said.
Speaking further, he declared that it was glaring that the present leadership in the country had no magic to do things, hence the urgent need for Nigerians to be patience and support the President Buhari administration.
He urged Federal Government to release money for the establishment of small scale industries, put in place big industries that could employ large number of the unemployed youths in the country as a way of tackling unemployment among the youths in the country.
Omoba Adesokan however lauded the President Buhari led government’s war against corruption which he said would take a very long time for Nigerians to see the positive aspect of the fight.
Chairman of the forum, Alhaji Abdulrahman Balogun in his remark, tasked Nigerian youths to instead of finding suitable role models rather picked the models from the drop-outs.
