Bauchi Police Operatives Rescue 3 Kaduna Kidnapped Victims

Police operatives in Bauchi State have successfully rescued three persons, Alh. Alhassan Gambo (60) of Unguwan Bawa in Kaduna State, Badamasi Saadu and Abdullahi Sani earlier kidnapped by suspected kidnappers.

Bauchi Police Public Relations Officer, SP Ahmed Mohammed Wakil explained that the victims were rescued by the operatives unhurt and subsequently reunited with families after proper medical examination.

A statement by the PPRO said that the suspects  on August 26, 2022, kidnapped Alh Alhassan Gambo of Unguwan Bawa, Kaduna State and shot one Alh Mujitafa Usman of Funtua LGA in Katsina State who were on a business trip to Tulu village in Bauchi State

PPRO Wakil however described as unfortunate the supreme price payment of a vigilante members in the gun duel led by Divisional Police Officer of Tulu Division while combing the kidnappers enclave.

“On 27th August 2022 at about 2100hrs credible intelligence available at the disposal of Tulu Divisional Police headquarters on the activities of suspected kidnappers, that on the 26th August 2022 suspected kidnappers blocked Tulu –  Rishi Road”.

According to the police spokesperson, the operatives had a gun duel following hot exchange of superior firepower at the Doka Auwalu Mountain of Tama ward in Toro Local Government Area of Bauchi state while other suspects were subdued and scamper in disarray with gunshot wounds into a nearby forest.

“After follow-up and intense surveillance in the area on 28th August, 2022, two suspects were apprehended who were found wandering aimlessly in the area, while investigation is ongoing to establish their connection or otherwise with the suspected kidnappers”.

According to the statement, the state commissioner of police, CP Umar Mamman Sanda has commiserated with the family of the vigilante member who sacrifices his life while protecting life and property of the citizens.

PPRO also disclosed some group of notorious thugs armed with cutlasses, knives, sticks and other dangerous weapons have last Tuesday attacked members of peace and security committee of Bakin Kura office and mercilessly inflicted serious injuries to two committee members namely Danladi Suleiman (32) and Yakubu Ibrahim (42).

To this end, he said, a team of detectives led by Commander Rapid Response Squad (RRS) swiftly swung into action to the scene and succeeded in arresting twenty-two (22) male suspects namely Aliyu Adamu (15) of Bakaro quarters, Ukasha Abubakar of Kofar mukaddas, and Abdulmalik Abdullahi of Kandahar quarters in Bauchi metropolis.

Others included Nura Inuwa (17) of Bakaro, Umar Abdullahi (18yrs) of Malan Goje, Mohammed Mohammed Koli (18), Umar Sulaiman (23), Ibrahim Idris (15), Kabiru Shehu (14), Musa Usman (14), Buhari Sani (18), Aliyu Yakubu alias (Ali luta), Isah Nuhu, Abdulsamat Aliyu, Muhammad Umar alias, Aliyu Adamu Aliyu, Abubakar Adamu, Mujahid Abdullahi (alias (James), Ibrahim Yunusa alias ‘Dan-mama’, Mubarak Ismail alias ‘Dangongo’ and Abdullahi Garba alias (Dan Alhaji)

Subsequently, all the suspects confessed to the crime, as the commissioner of police CP Umar Mamman Sanda directed that the suspects be charged to court.

“In keeping with our constitutional mandate to maintain law and order and ensure the safety as well as the well-being of the citizens of the State at all times, The Commissioner of Police directed that a special operation be mounted to protect citizens, especially in this period”.

“Therefore, coordinated patrols and surveillance would be carried out at a strategic location across the State to ensure that any criminal element is apprehended and de-mobilized without collateral damage to the citizens”.

In view of the above, citizens are requested to be more vigilant and promptly report any suspicious movement or attitude within their locations to the nearest Police Station, the statement said.
