Employees of Spider- Web Security company in Bauchi saddled with the responsibility of security duties in Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) of the state government have appealed to their employers to be humane enough to pay their monthly stipends backlog running into twenty months now.
The spider-web security operatives under a privately owned company numbering about 2, 000 serving at both state and local government levels, have for the past few months running helter-skelter for the state government to settle their N10, 000 each monthly stipends but to no avail.
Spider-web staff committee chairman, Kabir Jibrin cried that most of them have families who were living in rented houses, with some of them have their children forced out of school for economic problems while awaiting payment of their stipends.
“If the state government can owe spider-web staff monthly stipends of N10, 000 now running into 20 months, where then is the government resolve to curb unemployment among the teeming unemployed youth, or are they victims of circumstances because the spider-web outfit came on board during the immediate past administration in the state”, he queried.
He urged Governor Mohammed Abubakar to shun sentiments against the privately owned spider-web security company and be humane in paying their stipends backlog especially at this period of economic recession to fend for a living.
Malam kabir Jibrin explained that any well-meaning citizen can pity for staying put on the job at this period of economic quagmire without commensurate payments or take away home to feed their families.
He commended the Bauchi state House of assembly, especially its Public Complaints Committee for taking up the pains in ensuring that spider-web adhoc staff enjoys the fruits of their labour.
