Bauchi State Command Comptroller of Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS), Mr. Odeje Usman has charged the officers and men of the Command to be dedicated to duty by strictly keeping to the norms of the service
Usman gave the charge during a send-off ceremony organized for two retiring officers of the Command, Aliu Dauda and Aishatu Mohammed held Monday at Federal Secretariat, Bauchi.
“I urge you to always work within the norms of the service, because if you look at the journey to retirement, some people who may not have followed the righteous path may have been dismissed or terminated before retirement”.
Mr. Odeje Usman urged the serving officers to put in enough dedication to make sure that they make their retirement memorable.
He warned them against false declaration of age as well as other act of misconduct, cautioning that anyone found guilty would be dealt with according to the law of the land.
The Comptroller said, “Everybody should be able to maintain the tenancy of what the service has stipulated for us”.
He also urged the retirees to make judicious use of the funds given to them by their Pencom Administrators, and warned them against unnecessarily spending saying “This is not the best time to play around with money”
Responding on behalf of the retirees, Aliu Dauda thanked the Comptroller and the staff for honoring them by organizing the send-off ceremony.
Dauda appreciated the support given to them while in service and advised the staff to always discharge their duties effectively for the development of the country.
