Bauchi Governor loses uncle

The death has been announced of Alhaji Mohammed Jungudo, uncle to Governor Mohammed Abubakar of Bauchi State and a Gombe-based politician.
Governor Mohammed Abdullahi Abubakar who paid a condolence visit to the Emir of Gombe, Alhaji Shehu Usman Abubakar, said he was in the Emir’s palace to condole with him and the people of Gombe over the death of Alhaji Mohammed Jungudo and prayed God to grant the deceased eternal rest.
The Emir of Gombe, Alhaji Shehu Abubakar had thanked the Governor for the condolence, and described Bauchi and Gombe states as one, hoping the relationship which predates the Sokoto Jihad will be sustained in spite of “artificial boundaries created purely for administrative convenience between the twin states.
Alhaji Shehu Abubakar described the death of Alhaji Mohammed Jungudo as a loss to the two sister states of Bauchi and Gombe in particular and the country generally.
Governor Abubakar was earlier at the residence of the deceased where he was received by the deceased eldest son, Alhaji Sule Baban Nana. The Governor prayed God to grant the family of the deceased the fortitude to bear the loss.
The deceased, Alhaji Mohammed Jungudo who died at the age of 73 years, left behind three wives, many children and grandchildren. He has since been buried according to Islamic rites.
