Governor Mohammed Abubakar has cautioned opposition politicians in the country to desist from criticizing President Muhammadu Buhari’s foreign trips and allegation of being too slow in dealing with the major challenges facing the nation.
Abubakar gave the warning in Burra at the occasion of distribution of empowerment materials by the member representing Burra constituency in the State House of Assembly, Abdullahi Sa’ad Abdulqadir.
He said it is unfair to accuse the APC-led governments at various levels which have only been in office for less than a year for not doing enough these few months when it was clear the inherited rots made by the past PDP administration in 16 years.
The Governor, who explained that APC administrations should be allowed to spend 16 years in office before such conclusions can be reached, noted that the state of insecurity in the country found itself under the past administration has become a thing the past under the President Buhari’s administration.
He therefore charged the opposition to scout for better issues of national interest to engage the APC administrations on and stop criticizing the foreign trips of the President and the anti-corruption campaign launched by his administration.
Abubakar noted that the blockade of leakages and loopholes through which public treasury was being siphoned; adequate resources that will finance more than half of the 2016 budget have been saved by the Buhari-led federal government.
The acting Chairman of Ningi Local government area, Alhaji Nasir Ibrahim Dewu thanked the Governor for restoring security to the area that was ravaged by cattle rustling, armed robbery, kidnappings and other forms of insecurity under the past administration.
At the General Hospital Burra, the Nursing officer in-charge of the hospital appealed to the Governor to provide the hospital with critical manpower including medical officers, nurses, revolving drugs, beds and mattresses, fencing, power generating plant and staff quarters.
The Commissioner of Health, Dr. Halima Musa Mukaddas announced during the visit, that the Governor has approved the inclusion of ten more hospitals into the state drug revolving fund, which includes the General Hospital, Burra.
She also announced the immediate posting of a medical officer to the General Hospital, Burra, revealing that all the requests made by the Nursing Officer like the provision of beds and mattresses, fencing and power generating plant have been captured in the 2016 state budget.
