Bauchi Fed. Polytechnic matriculates over 5, 000 students

A total number of 5, 063 students admitted into the Federal Polytechnic this year are to undergo various academic programs.
The Rector, Dr. Shuaibu Musa disclosed this weekend during the 2016/2017 matriculation ceremony of the institution.
Dr. Shu’aibu Musa explained that the Polytechnic received 8, 282 applications out of which 5, 063 candidates were offered admissions after careful screening.
According to him, 2, 010 students would study various national diploma courses, 1, 816 higher national diploma while 291 and 946 students were admitted to undergo pre-national diploma and basic studies programs respectively.
”I must at this point reiterate that those of you that are taking the matriculation oath today must guard your admissions jealously by concentrating on studies” he said.
He warned the students to avoid examination mal-practices, eschew any form of violence, shun rumour mongering, sexual harassment, as observance of codes of behavior and social interactions be their watch words.
Musa who assured that all the programs run by the polytechnic were fully accredited by the National Board for Technical Education [NBTE], revealed that plans were at advanced stage to introduce new national diploma courses in computer engineering, urban and regional planning, fisheries and mechatronics in order to admit more students into the institution.
The Polytechnic Registrar, Hajiya Rakiya Malaika had in a remark said that they have given out handbooks and organized orientation lectures to all the newly registered students in order to educate them on school’s rules, as management would not hesitate to expel any erring student.
