All Progressives Congress (APC) in Bauchi has fired back at the member of the House of Representatives representing Misau/Dambam federal constituency, Ahmed Yerima over an alleged claim that its secretary is not in good terms with Governor Mohammed Abdullahi Abubakar.
State APC Secretary, Barrister Buhari Disina said in a statement in Bauchi Wednesday that Hon. Ahmed Yerima had in an interview given out false and distorted information on the officials of the party.
“Ordinarily the office and the person of the state secretary would have kept mute over the persistent media attack on both the government and its officials, but for the fact that the person of His Excellency, the Executive Governor of the state, Mohammed Abdullahi Abubakar Esq is also affected, “it stated.
According to the party, it deliberately avoided further joining issues with anybody in the media as efforts to address the differences within the APC stakeholders are ongoing.
APC said however that it decided to make the clarification and clear the doubt so that its continued silence will not be interpreted as the acceptance of what is being said about the party and its officials.
“The office of the state secretary of the APC mentioned severally by Ahmed Yerima in his relentless media attack wish to refute and dispel his claim that the state secretary is not with his Excellency even though he could not mention with whom the secretary is”.
“For the avoidance of any doubt, the state secretary is hundred percent (100%) with his excellency the state Governor Mohammed Abdullahi Abubakar Esq. And in full support of His government and its laudable policies. We challenge Ahmed Yerima to bring any evidence of any kind whatsoever to contradict this position,” it added.
The party noted that the mention of its state secretary and its other officials by Ahmed Yerima in the said interview is condemnable and provocative as he gave no evidence to support his claim against its secretary or any of the officials.
“We therefore emphatically refute ‎the statement and in its place categorically and unreservedly state that the state secretary is fully with his Excellency and is even among the caucus that formulates and design some of the laudable programmes of the government”, it said.
