BASG pays backlog of salaries, pensions

The Bauchi State Government has commenced payment of outstanding salaries and pensions as earlier promised by the State Governor Mohammed Abubakar.
A statement signed by the Director of Press, Government House, Alhaji Danbaba Umar said that payment of salaries and pensions backlog which commenced Friday last week cover civil savants in the state service, Local Government Councils,  State Universal Basic Education Board, as well as pensioners that have not been paid up to March 31st, 2016.
According to the statement, efforts are also being made to clear backlog of salaries and pensions owed civil servants and pensioners from the month of April, 2016.
Umar therefore assured that all workers and pensioners that have been duly verified and cleared will receive their salaries and pension entitlements accordingly.
“With this payment of salaries and pensions owed workers and pensioners, the State Government has therefore kept to its promise of ensuring all Civil Servants and pensioners are paid before the commencement of Ramadan fast”, the Director said.
Alhaji Danbaba Umar appealed for citizens’ continuous patience and understanding, while Government wishes all workers, pensioners as well as Muslim Umma a successful Ramadan Fast.
