Badole Community in Giwa Local Government Area of Kaduna State has expressed satisfaction with the result recorded at the Vitamin A Maize demonstration farm by Global Alliance for Improved Nutrition (GAIN)in partnership with Sasakawa African Association (SAA).
The farmer of the demonstration plot in the area, Malam Jafaru who spoke on behalf of the farmers at the Vitamin A Maize Green Field Day at Badole Village of Giwa Local Government Area of Kaduna State, said that it is very important to call on farmers to always accept new technologies for better results at the end of the harvest.
He thanked GAIN and Sasakawa for their technical support and the provision of inputs-seeds, fertilizers, agrochemicals and Afkasafe.
According to him, the collaborative project will assist farmers towards increase Vitamin A Maize production and consumption in Kaduna state.
He advised farmers to be sincere to themselves by adopting the new Agricultural technologies introduced to them by thse associations..
According to him, if farmers surely followed the new method of farming they will see improvement beyond their expectations which will countered their previous production.
In his remarks the Technical Coordinator for Development/ Market Oriented Agriculture of Sasakawa African Association, Mr. Isaac Eni said the programme is a contributing to partnership aimed at boosting agriculture towards transforming the small holder farmers in Kaduna State.
He said to build farmers capacity they established demonstrations plots and advanced cultivation to ensure quality and improved seeds get into the hands of farmers.
Mr. Isaac said, it is necessary to adopt the use of improved seeds and advanced cultivation practices, given the adverse effect of the climate change.
During the programme, farmers demanded being inclusive to be part of the programme sa they saw the important of use of improved seed like Vitamin A Maize.
