Azman Airliners has commenced the airlift of passengers from Ahmadu International Airport Birnin Kebbi, Kebbi State to Abuja.
Speaking at the flagg-off ceremony at the weekend at the premises of the airport, Deputy Governor of Kebbi State, Col. Sama’ila Dabai Yombe (rtd) disclosed that government will inject twenty million naira monthly as subsidy of airlifting passengers from the airport to Abuja.
Dabai who commended the airliners for their efforts, further stated that injecting twenty million naira as subsidy for a period of three months is to pave way for people of the state to board flight at a cheaper rate.
According to Him, the new development is to also reduce the long distance journey being faced by passengers from the state to Sultan Abubakar International Airport, Sokoto before their airlift.
President Azman Air, Alhaji Abdulmanaf Yunusa Serina said commencement of flight operation to Abuja from Birnin Kebbi by Azman Air has come to stay and passengers would be only charged twenty thousand naira per person and on daily basis.
He requested Kebbi State Government to provide them with aviation fuel which could only hinder their operation.
