The Cross River State Governor, Professor Ben Ayade has paid a visit to the widow of M.T. Mbu, during a campaign visit to Boki.
The governor who was accompanied by prominent sons and daughters of Boki nation, couldn’t hold back his excitement when he was received by the hail and hearty, energetic, well articulated Mama Mbu in her Boki country home.
“Wow! Mama you’re looking so beautiful and elegant, the queen’s English and accent is still very much in place, God indeed is awesome. I am so happy to see you,” said Ayade.
He recalled the virtues of Late M.T Mbu, whom he described as one of Cross River’s finest, a role model, a mentor, a fine gentleman of noble character who served the nation without blemish at a very young age.
The governor used the occasion to introduce the Governorship candidate of the party, Prince Bassey Edet Otu, to Mama ahead of the rally.
“Here is our governorship candidate, the incoming governor by God’s grace, a fine gentleman, he is tested and trusted, a man that will strengthen the unity of our dear state.
In our thank you tour, because we’re winning, we’ll factor that in, we’ll come and party with you and Boki nation. For now, we are far behind schedule and your people have been waiting since mid day” the governor said.
The ever smiling and healthy Mbu’s widow prayed and wished the candidates and their team well, however expressing her displeasure for lack of time to entertain the Governor and his entourage.
