National Chairman of the National Action Council, (NAC) Dr Olapade Agoro on Wednesday asked the Clerk of the National Assembly to within seven days publish names of members of the Assembly indicted or presently facing corruption charges.

Dr Agoro who  stated this in a letter titled “Service of Anti Corruption notice on the National Assembly” personally signed by him made available to newsmen in Ibadan vowed to drag the NASS Clerk to court if he fails to publish the said names.

According to  the former NAC  presidential candidate, this becomes necessary in view of the African Union’s declaration of winning the war against corruption in which  President Muhammadu Buhari was selected to champion the fight against corruption in Africa at the AU’s meeting held at Adis Ababa, Ethiopia.

Dr Agoro stressed that in line with this AU declaration on corruption, ” it is necessary that the National Assembly purge itself of corrupt membership.” adding that the Clerk of the National Assembly should within seven days of receipt of the letter publish the names of those facing corruption charges or indicted in three National Newspaper or face a legal suit against it.

Dr Agoro maintained that “corrupt elements should no longer be allowed to seat in the hallowed chambers of the National Asssembly.”
