*VP says she was mother to all

Former Vice President and 2023 presidential candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Vice President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Senator Kashim Shettima and the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Right Honourable Tajudeen Abass were amongst the important dignitaries thar attended the funeral prayers of the later mother of the former President Umar Musa Yar’adua, Hajiya Dada Musa Yar’adua who passed on Monday night at the age of 102.
Governor Dikko Umaru Radda led dignitaries and Muslim sympathizers to the funeral prayers held at the Katsina Township Stadium, presided by the Chief Imam of GRA Jumaat Mosque, Dr. Aminu Abdullahi Yammawa.
The Vice President, Senator Kashim Shettima who commiserated the government and people of Katsina State over the death of Hajiya Dada Yar’adua, described the deceased as a mother for all. “May Almighty Allah grant her Al-Janna Firdaous and grant the family the fortitude to beat the loss,” Senator Kashim prayed.
Other dignitaries in attendance include, Katsina State Deputy Governor, Malam Faruk Lawal Jobe; Emir of Katsina, His Royal Highness, Alhaji Abdulmumini Kabir Usman; Labour Party Presidential Candidate, Peter Obi; former Senate President Ahmad Lawan, and former Sokoto State Governor Aminu Waziri Tambuwal.
Others are:- Alhaji Shehu Inuwa Imam, Honourable Mustapha Bala Batsari, Chief Detail of late President Umaru Yar’adua, Yusuf Tilde, Business Mogul, Dahiru Barau Mangal; Senator Abdul Ningi and Adams Marina Waziri are also among the dignitaries present to offer condolences to the bereaved family.
Meanwhile, Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), General Christopher Musa also led some Military Generals to Katsina for the condolence.
Late Hajiya Dada was buried at Danmarna Cemetery.
The deceased until her death, is survived by children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Amongst Children are:- Hajiya Habi Musa Yar’adua, Hajiya Hafsat Musa Yar’adua, Senator Abdul’Aziz Musa Yar’adua and Alhaji Sule Musa Yar’adua while former Minister of State Defense, Alhaji Murtala Shehu Yar’adua amongst the grandchildren.
