Residents of Asaba have assured the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) of their support for the joint ticket of Alhaji Atiku Abubakar and Ifeanyi Okowa, and consider it the best choice for Nigeria in 2023.

The residents made their observations when the Delta State PDP Campaign Council visited Ward 1, Oko Ogbele, Ward 2, Oko Anala, Ward 3, Okwe, Ward 10, Cable, and Ward 11, Cable on Tuesday, December 6, 2022.

The residents of the area in seperate interviews,  hailed the combination of the former Vice-President and the Governor of Delta State, describing them as men of integrity and detrabilised Nigerians.

On the performance of the party, those who spoke during the interview, commended the Delta State Governor, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa for his efforts on project delivery, security of lives and property and keeping to promises to the electorate in the state.

According to Mrs. Amina Mohammed, Mr. Aliu Mohammed, Mrs. Roseline Nwachukwu, and some other residents, Governor Ifeanyi Okowa has transformed the Cable Point Community into a beautiful and secure environment, as he has not only built the road, but also given hope to residents through his security policies.

They attributed the present hardship in the country to the Government of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and stressed that they should not be trusted with the lives of Nigerians again at any level.

“The choice of Alhaji Atiku Abubakar and Senator Ifeanyi Okowa is the best choice for the country in 2023. The two men are promise keepers, and detribalised.”

They affirmed that the PDP government has been good to them, and they will vote for the party in 2023.

“The PDP government has been good to us. The All Progressives Congress government came in and destroyed all the achievements of the PDP. Today, the cost of goods is beyond the reach of  ordinary Nigerians.”

For Mr. Aliu Mohammed, the astronomical rise in the price of tricycles, which used to be N700,000 is now as much as N3,000,000.00, is because of maladministration of the APC government at the centre.

“Look, the APC and Buhari government brought hardship to this country, look at the cost of the Keke Napep, which used to be N700,000.00, is now as high as N3,000,000.00. Cost of accommodation has risen under APC, and Buhari. Nigerians are dying daily,” he lamented.

While on the part of Mrs. Amina Mohammed and Roseline Nwachukwu, the PDP under Okowa has done marvelously well as they can sleep with confidence in their area of the town.

“Before we couldn’t  sleep in this area. By 7 pm, you cannot come out of your room, as you will be robbed. But today, we cannot only go out at any time, and walk freely in the town, but we can now sleep even outside without fear. All thanks to Okowa.” they chorused.

In the governorship election, they are confident of the choice of the party, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori and Sir Monday Onyeme, the residents are confident, as long as they are getting the backing of the State Governor, to them, they may not be a bad choice, but expect them to perform better.

They assured the PDP of their total support, in the 2023 general elections for all the candidates.

Meanwhile, the Delta North Chairman of the party, Elder Moses Iduh has assured the People of Oko of the readiness of the PDP government to construct the Oko Road, as it has been re-awarded to Setraco Construction Company.

He informed the people of Oko, that the state government decided to re-award the road, to Setraco when the former company failed to deliver.

He told the people that the government is desirous of making the movement of the people seamless as soon as possible, while challenging them to confirm from Setraco Construction Company, the award of the contract.

“I know this road is very important to you, it’s also important to us, as it will make your movement and everyone that uses the road seamless.

“The Delta State Government, under Senator Ifeanyi Okowa has re-awarded the road to Setraco Construction Company. You can verify this today. Not tomorrow,” he pointed out.

Others who spoke at different wards visited, were the deputy governorship candidate of the party, Sir Monday Onyeme, the Senatorial Candidate for  Delta North, Prince Ned Nwoko, the member and candidate of the Aniocha/Oshimili Federal Constituency, Hon. Ndudi Elumelu,  candidate for the Oshimili South State Constituency, Barr. Bridget Anyafulu, and a chieftain of the party, Mr. Smart Meka.

They all encouraged the voters in the wards to trust the party, as they are ready to move the country from its present hardship.
