Atiku, Okowa, Ayu In Bauchi, Receive Over 25, 000 Decampees

Presidential candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar has tagged his party as the oldest, strongest and the largest destined to return to the centre stage at Aso Rock villa come 2023 general elections in the country.

The Presidential candidate told a crowded reception of over 25,000 decampees from other political parties at the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa Stadium (ATBS) in Bauchi that PDP has made its marks in all nooks and crannies of Nigeria, and even beyond.

Atiku who said that there is no better party in Nigeria than the PDP, commended the tremendous achievements recorded by the PDP-led administration in Bauchi under the able leadership of Governor Bala Mohammed in virtually all facets of human life.

Atiku observed that the tumultuous crowd he Wednesday witnessed at the Bauchi stadium is a clear testimony that the people love Governor Bala Mohammed and the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), hence the need to put all hands at deck to ensure the party’s victory at all levels of governance comes 2023 polls.

The PDP Chief driver congratulated the defectors for their wise decision to decamp to the ruling party in the state, and in the country God’s willing comes 2023 polls, saying “Your decamping is in order and also timely at this very crucial time when electioneering campaigns begins in the country.

The PDP presidential flagbearer welcomed the defectors, among whom he noted, was an incumbent speaker of the state House of Assembly, former deputy governor, Arc. Abdu Sule Katagum who held various offices in the immediate APC administration in the state, APC gubernatorial aspirant, Farouk Mustapha, saying “I congratulate the governor, the party, and the people of the state”.

Atiku expressed delight with the mammoth crowd that converged at the occasion, and expressed optimism that the turnout of followership would multiply in many folds when he is come back for the presidential electioneering campaign to Bauchi in due course.

“I also want use this opportunity to congratulate the people of Bauchi state under the tutelage of Governor Bala Mohammed. In all the sectors of development, whether infrastructure, education, healthcare, the governor has made his marks, and therefore PDP has made its marks”.

Governor Bala Mohammed, had while receiving the presidential candidate and his running-mate, Ifeanyi Okowa, PDP National Chairman, Iyorchia Ayu and other notable party stakeholders to Bauchi, told Atiku “Bauchi people love you, they like you, they knew you, and know what you can do, they believe in you and they believe in us”.

Bauchi state PDP chairman, Hamza Koshe Akuyam has earlier announced that over 25, 000 persons including former deputy governor and former deputy speaker cross-carpeted into the PDP, assuring the presidential candidate that they would deliver Bauchi to the party.

Atiku was accompanied to Bauchi by notable staunch members of the party that included PDP National Chairman, Senator Dr Iyorchia Ayu, former vice president Namadi Sambo, former Senate president Bukola Saraki, former Reps Speaker and Sokoto State Governor – Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, former Jigawa governor – Sule Lamido, Dino Milaye, Ibrahim Hassan Dankwambo, and governors of Adamawa and Taraba states, among others.
