*direct members to actively participate in burial process

The President Athletics Coaches Association of Nigeria (ACAN), Coach Godwin Ogogo has directed all its members to be involved in the final burial activities of late Honourable Brown Ebewele, who died on December 31, 2021, while calling on the Federal and Edo State governments to immortalize him.
This was contained in a statement signed by the National PRO, Coach Osiebe Felix Onoriode, made available on Wednesday, which said the activities for the burial will commence on January 27, 2022.
“January 27, 2022, body leaves Warri to Benin City for Service of Songs/ Wake keep by 4pm at his residence just behind Ogbe Stadium,” it said.
According to (ACAN), activities continue on January 28, 2022 with Laying in State at Ogbe Stadium by 8am.
“Body leaves Benin City for his home town, Irue near Uromi, by 10am for another mass in Catholic Church by 2pm then burial will follow immediately after which the entertainment/reception will take place till 29th of January 2022,” it informed.
It said ACAN also informed their members that on January 30, 2022, a Thanksgiving Service would be held to end the activities.
The association described Ebewele as a dedicated sportsman who contributed immensely to the development of athletics in Nigeria.
“We call on all our members worldwide to play active roles in his burial either through being physically present or moral support through prayers and contributions,” it added.
