The Agro Processing, Productivity Enhancement And Livelihood Improvement Support Project (APPEALS) has sensitized farmers on it’s activities.
Speaking at a one-day Awareness Creation Workshop on the implementation of APPEALS Project, held at the Kongo Conference Hall, in Zaria, the Kaduna State Project Coordinator, Dr Yahaya Aminu advised farmers to engage in commercial farming.
He called on the community, associations and small scale industries to make use of the opportunity to benefit from the programme.
According to him, already, the Federal Government and Kaduna State in collaboration with the World Bank have made available the funds to be distributed to the lucky ones.
He emphasized that people should engage themselves into farming activities for their economy to improve.
He listed three different types of products to be concentrated they are maize. ginger and dairy milk.
The workshop had in attendance, small scale industries, farmers associations and other stakeholders in agriculture.
