APC Secretariat Agog As Nyako Guns For Adamawa Central Senatorial Seat

Adamawa State Secretariat of the All Progressives Congress (APC) was agog on Monday as senator Abdulaziz Nyako officially declared interest to contest for Adamawa Central Senatorial seat.
The event was graced by delegates from the seven local government areas of Adamawa Central Senatorial Zone, as well as other senior stakeholders of APC from across the state, including one of the party’s gubernatorial hopeful, Umar Mustapha.
Speakers at the event who took turns to shower glowing encomiums on the aspirant, urged the delegates to trust Nyako with the party’s ticket as he is the best man for the job.
In his goodwill message, a former Speaker of Adamawa State House of Assembly, Mohammad Hassan Turaki urged the delegates to consider Nyako’s track record, integrity and exposure, noting that they will not regret giving him the party’s ticket.
He noted that Nyako’s family in the state need no introduction, because of the tremendous development they brought to the state especially when the scion of the family, Admiral Murtala Nyako led the state.
“We owe Nyako a great debt and this is the time to settle the debt. We all know the people-oriented projects he brought especially his various empowerment programmes which impacted the lives of every family in Adamawa.
“I remember with nostalgic feelings, how the local apprenticeship skills, and other vocational empowerment projects removed thousands of Adamawa indigenes across the state from poverty.
“Despite the fact that Abdulaziz  also proved himself when he served the people of Adamawa Central Senatorial Zone in the past,” he said.
Similarly, Usman Ibrahim and former chairman of PDP in Adamawa State, Umar Kugama all showered encomiums on Abdulaziz Nyako, adding that he has no rival if integrity, track record, capacity and excellence are the yard stick for electing a representative.
They however, urged the party to act decisively against any act of indiscipline, noting that it is one of the critical challenges facing the party currently.
The APC stalwarts who urged the delegates not to hesitate in voting Nyako said it is  payback for the goodwill and tremendous leadership hoisted by the Nyako family.
Speaking during the declaration, the aspirant, Abdulaziz Nyako urged the delegates to elect the most competent aspirant.
Nyako who waxed didactic said their position to elect the best person is a trust which they must hold and discharge tenaciously as they will be questioned by God.
He noted that the next senate will face a Herculean task in view of the insecurity and other economic and social malaise noting that such calls for deep introspection by the delegates to do the right thing so as to save the country from inexorable implosion.
Nyako urged the delegates to ensure electing people of proven character from councillors to president so that the challenges facing the country could be faced head on.
Also commenting on behalf of the chairman of the party in the state, Ibrahim Bilal, the secretary of the party, Raymond Chidama vouched for Nyako’s integrity.
He urged the delegates to elect the person with the highest track record, integrity and competence.
Impressed by his track record, some ex councillors presented award of recognition and excellence on Abdulaziz Nyako.
