All Progressive Congress (APC) in Katsina State has been able to execute viable projects across the 34 local government areas in the state despite meager funds inherited from the previous administration, Secretary to the State Government, Alhaji Mustafa Mohammed Inuwa has said.
Alhaji Mustafa Mohammed Inuwa disclosed this when officials of the North-West chapter of Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) paid him a courtesy call in his office.
He said APC administration has accorded priority since inception to educational development, provision of portable water, agricultural activities and security of live and property.
He said the present administration is a media friendly as it acknowledged the role of Journalists in governance.
Alhaji Mustafa Inuwa said that the Masari administration has given a free-hand to state owned media to perform their duties according to the profession.
The Secretary to the Government however expressed dismay on how some journalists write stories to tarnish the image of some personalities.
Alhaji Mustafa Inuwa said the projects inspection would enable journalists to assess how government spent its resources.
In a remark, the North-West Vice Chairman of the NUJ, Yusuf Idris said the tour was initiated to assess government effort in improving the lots of the electorate.
He also noted the role of the Secretary in the success of state government.
Comrade Yusuf Idris expressed delight on government effort towards girl/child education and freedom to state owned media.
The Vice Chairman however appealed to the State Government to support the Union to complete work at the Secretariat.
Earlier, in a welcome address, the Katsina State Chairman of the NUJ, Buhari Mamman Daura said that the Union recognized the effort of Masari administration in improving the living condition of the electorate.
He also commended the Secretary to the Government for leading the amnesty programme which solved cattle rustling in the state.
The visiting team of the NUJ comprises Directors of News from Kaduna, Kano, Katsina, Zamfara, Kebbi and Sokoto States Radio stations.
Others are NTA, Ray Power, Vision FM and Katsina State NUJ executives.
