The event took place at Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu campaign office, Iyana Ishashi, Lagos State on Wednesday 30th March 2022.
According to APC CYA authority, the honour was bestowed upon the achievers in recognition of their roles in community development and contribution in propagating political awareness in their respective areas, as well as their commitment to the mobilization of the grassroots for a better polity.
In his remark on the occasion, APC CYA South-West Zone Coordinator, Prohet Dr. Joseph Ogebule (JP), urged politicians to ensure they fulfill their promises to the people.
“Whatever you do on this earth you will give account of it. Any day you make a mistake there is judgement for it,” Ogebule warned. “Please, wherever you find yourself, whatever position that is given to you, do it very well. Never rest on your oars. Make more impact on political affairs, in spite of your religious affiliation.”
Ogebule advised governments of Nigeria to initiate policies on agriculture and modern technology acquisition drive, and implement same for the progress and development of the country. “Embrace 21st century technology for advancement of living,” he counselled.
The APC CYA South-West leader said that the Coalition has been well established all over the South-West of Nigeria and across the nation.

He assured that he will deliver good results in the discharge of his duty as a leader of the group.
Lagos State chairman of APC CYA, Dr. Obasa Afis Akanni, in his address on the occasion, described the awardees as experienced politicians who have “done a lot in Lagos State and Nigerian politics.”
The beneficiaries of the honour on that day were chosen from four local government areas of the state, namely: Alimosho, Ojo, Kosofe and Mushin.
Akanni said that the recognition will be extended to activists in other South West States, such as Oyo, Osun, Ogun, Ondo and Ekiti. “There’s no discrimination. We’re all one Nigeria,” the Lagos APC CYA chief who stressed the importance of equity, justice and fairness in human relations, stated.
The awardees expressed satisfaction and gratitude for the honour bestowed upon them. They declared their commitment to continue to mobilize the grassroots, empower youths to succeed in life, and to support widows in order to enthrone an egalitarian society where no one is marginalized.
