APC chieftain lauds war against corruption, urges Buhari to expand scope to states, LGs

President Muhammadu Buhari has been called upon to extend the fight against corruption to the States and Local Government levels to curb the menace at the grassroot.
Alhaji Abdulrahman Adamu, an All Progressive Congress (APC) chieftain and former Minister of Interior, made the call while  lauding the ongoing fight against corruption by the President.
Adamu who spoke to newsmen in Yola said investigation into
the arms deal was a welcome development and the administration needed the full support of Nigerians to succeed.
“Government should not stop at the arms deal as there is also the need to investigate the utilization of funds given to states and local
governments. They need to accounts for monies allocated to them.” Adamu said.
He lauded the appointment of T. Y. Danjuma committee to handle the reconstruction of insurgency affected areas in the North East and urged the committee to handle the task taking into the consideration the peculiar interest of victims.
The former minister advised the reconstruction committee to rebuild the destroyed houses in various villages in the zone with local materials, noting that maintenance of the buildings will be easier for the people in those areas if done with such materials.
