APC appoints Shetima Gombe State Chairman

The All Progressives Congress (APC) following the crisis that rocked the Gombe State Chapter of the party, has appointed a four-man caretaker committee to oversee the activities of the party in the state.
A statement signed by the party’s National Secretary, Hon. Mai Mala Buni which New Nigerian got a copy of, informed that Hon. Lawan Shetima will serve as the chairman of the caretaker committee.
“Arising from the irreconcilable differences in the top hierarchy of the Gombe State Chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) which led to the factionalisation of the State Chapter as informed by the testimonies of members of the State Executive Committee, the National Working Committee (NWC) of our Party in exercise of its powers contained in Article 13.4 (xvi & xvii) of the Party’s Constitution resolves as follows:

  1. Accept the resignation of Mr. Karu Ishaya and Mr. Sallau Manu Pindiga as State Deputy Chairman and State Secretary respectively.
  2. Relieve Barr. Muhammad Magaji Doho and Barr. Dauda Manu as State Chairman and State Legal Adviser respectively.
  3. Both decisions in “1” and “2” takes effect from 31stAugust, 2016.
  4. Approve the composition of Caretaker Officers into the vacant offices as follows:

(i)   Hon. Lawan Shetima       –        State Chairman
(ii)  Capt. Bala Jibrin               –        State Deputy Chairman
(iii) Alh. Sule Yakubu              –        State Secretary
(iv) Barr. Joseph William       –        Legal Adviser”
The statement added that the committee will serve for a 3-month renewable period.
