Anxiety in Ibadan over rumoured death of Olubadan
By; Bayo Akamo, Ibadan.
There is anxiety in Ibadan over the unconfirmed rumoured death of the over 100 years old Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Samuel Odulana, Odugade I.
It is been rumoured that Oba Odulana who will be 101 years in April this year, reportedly passed on in his sleep at his Monatan,  palace in Ibadan after he reportedly lost consciousness.
New Nigerian gathered that the Olubadan-In-Council will today hold an emergency meeting after which a statement is expected to be issued to confirm his death.
However, as at the time of filing this report, there has been no statement from the Oyo State government on the condition of the royal father.
One of his sons, Prof. Femi Lana when contacted declined comments on the reported death of his father while the Personal Assistant to Oba Odulana Chief Isiaka Akinpelu, however denied the death, insisting that it was a mere rumour, saying that Oba Odulana still ate yesterday and was hale and hearty.
Oba Odulana ascended the throne in 2007 as the 39th Olubadan of Ibadan land.
High Chief Saliu A.O. Adetunji who was recently elevated as the Balogun of Ibadan land is expected to be named the next Olubadan of Ibadan if the rumoured death of Olubadan is confirmed.
