*VC, Bandele charges students to be highflyers

The Vice Chancellor of Anchor University Lagos (AUL), Professor Samuel Bandele has revealed that the proposed plan of the university is to collaborate with Deeper Life High School (DLHS), nationwide, to add to the core values these schools are known for, even as he charged the graduating students of DLHS to go all out to take their place as highflyers and truly be a peculiar treasures.

Professor Bandele made this declaration as a guest lecturer at the valedictory service titled,  ‘Peculiar Treasure’ held at DLHS campus in Lagos recently. 

The university don explained that the proposed partnership centres on collaboration, cooperation and connectivity, adding that the initiative will cover the students, the staff and the school system.

He stressed that the DLHS students would be given preference in terms of admission, even as he hinted on the plan to deploy Anchor University academic staff to teach in areas of need such as, core sciences, English language, and other areas of need as dictated by time. 

 He also called on the graduating students to take advantage of AUL’s modern and state-of-the-art facilities in terms of classrooms, laboratories, 108 Mass Communication Studio, among others.

“AUL will deploy high-level manpower in the training and retraining of staff at the level of postgraduate programmes and management professional courses. Our faculty of education will also be available for the pedagogical upgrade of staff who are not professional teachers.

“Organisation of seminars, workshops, trainings and short-term courses with AUL staff as facilitators particularly in capacity building and modern skill acquisition and entrepreneurial programmes”, this much he promised DLHS during the valedictory service.

He therefore, asked both the parents and students to embark on facility tours saying this would afford them the opportunity to see the entrepreneurial skill acquisition programmes organised by the institution.

“AUL is already wearing a new look with the massive upgrading of her infrastructures and introduction of contemporary professional programmes to meet societal needs”, he stated. 

He however, admonished the outgoing students that God has made them peculiar treasures because they are created in God’s image. 

“We are the image of God and should exhibit His likeness.

“The ladder that leads to being a Peculiar Treasure is the ladder of holistic progress. The place of the Peculiar Treasure is at the top.

“This is because their reach is unlimited, their up-rising unstoppable, their results unparalleled, their reputation undeniable, their record unbeatable, their righteousness undiluted, their radiance unquenchable and their report is unsurpassable”, he noted.
