Edwin Umeanozie, the Chairman of Anambra TeqBall Association has commended the interest shown in the sports by youth in the state.
Umeanozie said this at the kickoff of TeqBall Tour of Anambra in Awka on Monday.
The chairman who was represented by his vice, Johnny Obinwa said the target was not only to make TeqBall popular but to make Anambra the rallying point of the game in the Southeast.
He described TeqBall as a game of two-aside which helps in the development of balance, skill and control of the body of players adding that sportsmen in different areas including football, basketball, volleyball and others could play it.
‘“This is a beautiful game, it is featuring at the National Sports Festival and already approved for All Africa Games, so we want to make the game popular here and make Anambra the hub in Southeast,” he said
Also speaking, Cyril Nwoye, the media director of TeqBall Association said the tour would move to Ekwulobia and later on to Onitsha.
Nwoye said selected players would be subjected to intensive training ahead of major championships.
