Ogun State Governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun has called on the security agencies to re-double their efforts in order to efficiently combat crime.
Amosun made the call in Abeokuta at the 2016 New Year Party and Award Ceremony organised by the Military, Police and Paramilitary Public Relations Officers Forum (MILPOPPROF), Ogun State Chapter.
Represented by the Secretary to the State Government; Barr. Taiwo Adeoluwa, Amosun lauded the men and officers of all the security agencies for their efforts at checkmating criminal activities in the State.
“We appreciate you security personnel, you have done your duties well and made our jobs easy. But you need to double your efforts, therefore don’t drop the ball because there are new dimensions in crime. You need to rise up to the task so that your efforts so far will not be eroded”, Amosun charged.
Governor Amosun further tasked the service men to check indiscriminate parking of trailers and other articulated vehicles along Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, maintaining that the State Government would not condone unlawful parking of vehicles in the state, urging them to brace up for the challenges ahead.
Earlier, the Chairman of MILPOPPROF, DSP Muyiwa Adejobi thanked the State Government for supporting security agencies so far, revealing that the purpose of MILPOTTROF was to strengthen the synergy amongst military and para-military agencies in the State to achieve a common goal.
Highlight of the event was presentation of awards to deserving service men for their outstanding performances in the out-gone year.
MILPOPPROF is made up of Public Relations Officers of the Nigerian Army, the Nigeria Police Force, Nigeria Custom Service, Nigeria Immigration Service, Nigeria Prison service, Federal Road Safety Corps, Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps and Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Corps.
