Daura City and country home of President Muhammadu Buhari was agog at the weekend following the turbanning of the Minister of Transport, Chief Rotimi Amaechi as Dan Amanar (Trusted Son) of Daura by the Emir, Alhaji Umar Farouk Umar. Dan Amanar Daura, Chief Rotimi Amaechi was turbaned alongside with a Jigawa State based Business Mogul, Alhaji Nasiru Haladu Danu as Tafida Babba of Daura.
Consequently, all business and commercial activities in Daura town and its environs were brought to a standstill as dignitaries from every nocks and cronies within and outside the country attended the ceremony.
Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Mr Boss Mustapha represented the Vice President, Professor Yemi Osibanjo at the colorful ceremony which also had in attendance, Governor Aminu Bello Masari of Katsina State, his Deputy, Alhaji Mannir Yakubu and Secretary to the Government of the State, Dr. Mustapha Mohammad Inuwa, members of the state House of Assembly and those of the State Executive Council as well as other well wishers from across the country.
The turbanning ceremony also attracted the Minister of Labour and Productivity, Mr Festus Keyamo, the Permanent Secretary Federal Ministry of Transport and members of the National Assembly amongst others.
The rest are the Ooni of Ife, paramount chiefs of Niger Delta, some representatives of some emirs and chiefs from within and outside the country.
Speaking after the turbanning, Emir of Daura, Alhaji Umar Farouk Umar said Chief Rotimi Amaechi and Alhaji Nasiru Haladu Danu were conferred with the titles in recognition of their contributions towards bringing development to Daura Emirate and the state in general.
Alhaji Umar Farouk Umar outlined such contributions to include spearheading the establishment of the Federal University of Transport Technology in Daura and the ongoing rail project extended from Kano-Daura through Katsina to terminate at Maradi in Niger Republic.
Alhaji Umar Farouk Umar said the new Tafidan Babba Daura, Alhaji Nasiru Haladu Danu has been at the forefront of empowering youth to become useful members of the community.
Meanwhile, Dan Amanar Daura, Chief Rotimi Amaechi was at the residence of Katsina based business mogul, Alhaji Dahiru Bara’u Mangal on condolence over the death of his mother, Hajiya Murjanatu Bara’u Mangal who died a forthnight ago in Katsina metropolis.
Dan Amanar Daura, Chief Rotimi Amaechi was received by Alhaji Dahiru Bara’u Mangal along with members of his family at his residence at Kofar Koya in Katsina metropolis.
