Following bloody clashes with officers and men of the Nigerian Police Force (NPF) Kaduna State Command on Thursday June 21, 2018, no fewer than 42 members of the Islamic Movement in Nigeria (IMN) popularly known as Shi’ites have been arrested.
This was disclosed to our correspondent by the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) Kaduna State Command, ASP Aliyu Mukhtar, while giving an update into the incident.
“Update on the arrest of Shiite Members in connection of the brutal killing of a Police Officer while discharging his lawful duty and responsibility.
” Forty two (42) suspects were so far arrested and will be charged to Court in conclusion of investigation, ” ASP Mukhtar said.
It would be recalled that it was alleged that Shi’ites while protesting the continuous incarceration and arraignment of their leader Sheikh Zakzaky committed culpable homicide by killing a Policeman deployed to control crowd.
Sheikh Zakzaky has been in detention since December 2015 after clashes between his members and the Nigerian Army in Zaria.
