Politicians angling for elective positions in Niger state have been cautioned by the state governor, Dr. Muazu Babangida Aliyu to respect the zoning arrangement put together for the Peoples Democratic Party PDP in the State.
He said that the activities of some political office holders and politicians in recent times have become an unnecessary distraction to the administration.
ā€˜We should support the zoning formula, it is our own internal arrangement, people should not overheat the polityā€™.he said
Aliyu who stated this yesterday while inaugurating the committee for the Realization of the University of Education in the state complained that some politicians were already holding nocturnal meetings ahead the 2015 elections in the state.
According to him, the political peace being enjoyed in the state during this democratic regime is as a result of the zoning arrangement which had reduced unnecessary acrimony in the race for political offices, stressing that the peace should not be eroded.
Speaking on the proposed university of education, Aliyu said that the academic calendar will be unique in all aspects of education stressing that it will also be a reference point by education stakeholders in the country.
Chairman of the Committee and former Vice Chancellor of the Federal University of Technology Minna, Professor Mohammad Daniya in an address promised that they will live up to the expectation of the government.
ā€˜Failure in respect of this enterprise is unacceptable, we shall give our all and make the issues easier than hitherto thoughtā€™ Daniya said
