Ali Modu Sherrif may emerge PDP Chairman

Former Governor of Borno State, Senator Ali Modu Sherrif has been included in the race to become the National Chairman of the leading opposition, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP.
 
His name was included among others, invited from the North East zone for consideration.
 
Others included are Hon. Muhammed Wakil, former Member, House of Representatives,  Nuhu Ribadu and one other were invited by the caucus to a meeting held by PDP caucus at Ondo State Governor’s lodge, Asokoro, Abuja, late last night.
 
The caucus was briefed by the two PDP North East Governors of Gombe and Taraba and other leaders, on steps taken in nomination of candidates for the PDP chairmanship position.
 
Earlier, five individuals were brought for consideration, namely: Ambassador Wilberforce Juta, Senator Kumo, Senator Girigiri, Shehu Gambam and one other.
 
Our reporter gathered that the caucus meeting will continue today, Tuesday by 12pm while decision taken will be presented to the board of trustees by 3pm NEC meeting is scheduled for 3pm Tuesday.
 
The caucus is inviting and giving chairmanship candidates the opportunity to explain why they want to be PDP chairman as well as the value they intend adding to the party. The National Executive Council (NEC) is expected Tuesday to approve a substantive PDP chairman.
