Alao-Akala An Illustrious Son Of Oyo State, Gov Makinde Says, Directs Flag At Oyo Secretariat To Fly At Half Mast

Engineer  Seyi Makinde on Wednesday described  a former governor of  Oyo State, late  Otunba Adebayo Alao-Akala as an illustrious son of the state.
The governor who said the news of the  death of Otunba Adebayo Alao-Akala was sad and great loss directed that flags at the Oyo state government secretariat fly at half mast to honour the former governor .
” I join the good people of Oyo State to mourn the passing of a former Governor of our dear state, Otunba Christopher Alao-Akala, which sad event took place today. May his soul rest in peace and may God grant his family the fortitude to bear this great loss”, he said.Engineer Makinde added, ” I have directed that flags fly at half-mast in honour of Governor Alao-Akala, our brother, friend and illustrious son of Oyo State.” 
Emphasizing that the late former governor as an  illustrious leader birthed Infrastructural development outside the state capital, Ibadan, Governor Makinde said the late governor will be remembered for his contributions to the development of Oyo State 
“His Excellency will be remembered for his contributions to the development of Oyo State as Governor, especially for taking infrastructural development to other zones of the state outside Ibadan” .
Earlier, at the 2022 Inter-faith Prayer Service organised by the Oyo State Civil Service, Governor Seyi Makinde on hearing the news of the former governor’s death called for a minute silence in honour of the late Otunba Alao-Akala.
The news of the death of Otunba Alao-Akala however brought the inter faith prayer service into abrupt end as Governor Makinde quickly cancelled the presentation of his speech at the prayer service.
“I am here with the speech prepared for this event but I have just been informed about the death of former Governor of the state, Otunba Adebayo-Akala. I pray that God grant his loved ones and all his well-wishers the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.” he said 
Governor Makinde then condole  with the immediate family members of the former Governor, his political associates and all residents of the state whose paths have crossed with Chief Alao-Akala.
