The kidnapped Founder and President of Solid Rock Kingdom Church, Apostle John Okoriko has regained  freedom after four days in captivity in the hands of his abductors.
Okoriko was kidnapped on Tuesday around 5pm from his church premises in Ibekwe, Mkpat Enin local area of Akwa Ibom State, by unknown gunmen.
The man known for his revolutionary preaching against non existence of Satan and notorious beliefs especially in witchcraft, was whisked away by the hoodlums to unknown destination.
It was gathered that the following day, the kidnappers used the cell phone of Okoriko’s driver which was snatched during the operation and communicated with the family, demanding N100m ransom to secure his freedom.
Sources revealed that the ransom was reduced to N30m on Thursday and was later slashed to N10m on Friday afternoon.
However, it was not clear whether the amount was paid before he was released.
But when the tension was high as the family could not gather the negotiated amount for the hoodlums, he walked home amidst jubilation among the church and family members.
It was gathered the kidnappers were not comfortable with keeping the church founder in their custody because of social media and newspaper reports which made them facilitate his freedom as it  drew attention of government and security agencies.
Meanwhile, the pastor has  reunited with family members as his eldest son, Levi Okoriko expressed excitement on his Facebook page.
“Our Lion has come out stronger than before . He will continue to roar with the new strength,” he said
The Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) in the state, Odiko MacDon had assured AKwa Ibom residents that the Commissioner of Police in the state, Andrew Ammieghene had ordered investigations into the matter which  scared many  in the state .
