Akeredolu Solicits Mimiko’s Support for Success

Chief Rotimi Akeredolu, SAN,  the Governor-elect of Ondo State,  has thumped up for the record of achievements of the incumbent Governor,  Dr. Olusegun Mimiko which he said will be difficult to surpass.
Akeredolu also commended Mimiko for devoting his time to the service of the people of the state and submitted that his wealth of advice will be needed for the sustainable development of the state.
Mr Akeredolu who made the commendation when he paid a courtesy visit to his predecessor to be Dr. Mimiko in his office in Akure, was accompanied by some leaders of the All Progressive Congress, APC.
He said,  “we are here as indigenes of Ondo people who are concerned about  the state. We all owe you debt of  gratitude Mr Governor,  for your service to this State and to Nigeria. Whether we like it or not, you have a track record that I’m not too sure many people can surpass”.
Further Akeredolu said “we should move and work shoulder above others with your help because you have served to the best of your ability.
“The early part of your life you have devoted to this State. Since you were at the University at Ile Ife, it has been service time in time out. You were commissioner for health two times, Secretary to Government, minister and Governor.  It is not something that is common and all of us must be able to accept it. I hope I’ll have the opportunity of repeating it”.
He thus called on political leaders to emulate the kind of transition that is going on in Ondo State.
Responding, Governor Mimiko thanked Mr Akeredolu for the unique visit, promising to continue to offer meaningful advice to the in-coming governor at all times.
While describing peace as one of the greatest legacies of his administration, Dr Mimiko urged the governor-elect to sustain the prevailing peace for the Socio-Economic development of the State.
The Governor-elect was accompanied on the visit by some leaders of the All Progressives Congress, APC in the State, including, Hon. Ifedayo Abegunde, Rt. Hon, Victor Olabintan, Dr Tunji Abayomi, Mr Kehinde Akinterinwa, Engr. Ade Adetimehin, Mr Femi Agagu and his media aide Yemi Olowolabi among others.
