For Madam Hannah Okorie, a widow, her joy knows no bounds as the wife of the Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Patience Umo Eno, has inaugurated a one-bedroom bungalow for her last weekend.

Before now, Madam Okorie from Nung Ukim Ikot Udom in Ikono Local Government Area of the state, was living in a mud house with her three children, a condition that was seen as appalling.

The house built and furnished by the wife of the chairman of Ikono Local Government Council, Mrs. Otobong Okoibu with the support of her husband, Mr. Nyakno Okoibu has elicited joyous celebrations from the beneficiary and the people of the community.

Speaking before inaugurating the project, the Governor’s wife, Pastor Patience Eno, appreciated the benevolence of the Chairman of Ikono and Wife, Hon. Nyakno and Mrs Otobong Okoibu, for providing a safe and habitable abode for the widow, stating that the act of kindness has been recorded in the book of life for them and their generations yet unborn.

She prayed for God’s grace upon the chairman and wife to continue to discharge dividends of democracy to the people and charged others to emulate the good gestures in their different localities.

Pastor Eno, in her magnanimity extended her love to the widow by promising to provide a portable water supply for her and the neighbourhood and donated cash to the widow for business. She also reached out to other widows from the local government with wrappers and financial support for their businesses, in line with the women empowerment component of the ARISE Agenda.

Earlier, welcoming the Governor’s Wife to their domain, the Chairman of Ikono local government area, Hon. Nyakno Okoibu, flanked by wife Otobong, thanked Pastor Eno for coming to the area to inaugurate the building project, adding that the ARISE Agenda of the administration of Governor Umo Eno has opened new vistas of hope for the people of the area.

In appreciation, the beneficiary widow, Madam Hannah Okorie, expressed sincere appreciation to God for His benevolence and the rare privilege of having the Governor’s wife commission her new home.

While praying God to bless and reward Pastor Eno for her show of love, she also extended her gratitude to the Chairman of Ikono and wife and everyone who have contributed in moving her from a dilapidated mud house to a tastefully furnished apartment.

Goodwill messages were received from political stakeholders of Ikono including the paramount ruler of Ikono, Edidem Etim Nnana Itang, who all declared their support to the ARISE agenda of the Governor Umo Eno-led administration.
