In line with its mandate of providing quality mobile money services to its swelling number of customers, Bizi Mobile Money Agency has signed a pact with Access Bank that will see it serve as an agency for the financial institution in seven states across the federation.

The Managing Director/CEO of Bizi Mobile, Alhaji Aminu Bizi disclosed this on Sunday evening in Kaduna, at an enlightenment campaign held at the General Hassan Usman Katsina Park, popularly known as Gamji Gate.

According to him, the states where the pact covers are; Borno in the North-East, Abia in the South-East, Akwa Ibom in the South-South, Kaduna and Jigawa in the North-West and Ogun in the South-West.

He told the gathering that the pact would provide opportunity for residents of communities that lacked conventional banking facilities to be able to engage in transactions with ease.

“The Federal Government through the Bank of Industry has made available a fund of N500 billion which is targeted at Small and Medium scale Enterprises (SMEs). A lot of people in the rural areas are left out of benefiting from the money which is aimed at growing such small businesses.

“People like beans cake (akara) fryers and others are advised to register with cooperative societies that are registered with the Corporate Affairs Commission so that they can access the loans ranging from N10,000 to N100,000 to improve on their businesses,” he said.

Speaking further, he said that Bizi Mobile would be using its network across the country to ensure people are well positioned to have access to the loan.

Alhaji Bizi called on youth who were unemployed or underemployed to take advantage of the demand for agents to join his agency and become useful in their communities.

As part of the enlightenment activity, three people who answered questions correctly were presented with prizes by the Guest of Honour at the event, Chairman of Chikun Local Government Area, Honourable Hadiza Ladi Yahuza.

In an interview with newsmen, one of the winners, Sherifat Mohammed Suleiman said that she had learnt a lot from the enlightenment and would also tell others who were not there about the good news.

“I have always wanted to be a banker and since Bizi Mobile Money is giving youth opportunity to become agents, I would take the opportunity to join the agents,” she added.
