Barely a week after the withdrawal of the right of occupancy of the AIT/Raypower by the Bauchi State Government in respect of the land housing the stations at Tirwun village, the government through the state ministry of health has also withdrawn approval earlier granted the Senator representing Bauchi central, Isa Hamma Misau to conduct free eye screening, surgery and treatment in his Misau/Dambam federal constituency.
The ugly development might not be unconnected with the alleged acrimony and cold war between Governor Muhammed Abubakar and the members of the National Assembly from Bauchi state who recently visited President Muhammadu Buhari and the headquarters of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) where they reportedly tabled their complaints and grudges against the governor.
The visit to the presidency and party in Abuja was led by the Speaker Yakubu Dogara and supported by Senators Isa Hamma Misau, Nazif Gamawa, Ali Wakili, Education Minister Adamu Adamu, APC former governortorial aspirant Yakubu Lame and members of the House of Representatives all of whom were indigenes of Bauchi State.
According to the letter sent to the Senator Hamma and signed by one Ahmed Garba for the Commissioner of Health, Halima Mukaddas with copies made available to the press, the withdrawal of the approval and the pledge of the ministry’s collaboration in the exercise was due to unforeseen circumstances.
”I have been directed to refer to our letter N0. MOH/GEN/5/1134/T dated 16/8/2016 conveying approval for you to conduct Free Eye outreach in your constituency and to withdraw same due to unforeseen circumstances”, the leeter reads in part.
It added, “We will get back to you as soon as those issues are sorted out. Please accept the assurances of the Honourable Commissioner’s highest regards”.
When contacted, the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on media, Comrade Sabo Mohammed said however that the request of the Senator was re-approved and that a new letter of approval would be sent to him‎.

It could be recalled that Bauchi state government early this year denied the Speaker House of Representatives Hon Dogara Yakubu the privilege to use government facilities in his constituency to rendered treatment to the citizens.
It was also reported that Speaker Dogara had to seek approval from Federal Ministry of Health to use federal Government facility at (ATBU Teaching Hospital Bauchi) to render free health treatment to his people.
