As a result of its structured academics and sports programmes, Coach Felix Academics and Sports Foundation (CFASF) has secured a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with several top universities in Nigeria for admission of its athletes.
Founder of the foundation, Coach Osiebe Felix Onoriode disclosed this on Tuesday in Kaduna during its maiden stakeholders congress, held at the Ahmadu Bello Stadium.
“We have been able to secure memorandum of understanding regarding admissions with some Federal and State Universities (Unilorin, Uniben, Uniport and Kasu).
“Between two of our athletes who applied to the University of Ilorin one has been offered admission while the other is still on the waiting list, also, we are expecting four admissions from Kaduna State University against the incoming academics session,” he said.
He explained that CFASF is a non-profit organisation founded in November 2016, which is committed to teenagers/youth academics and sports development.
“Our Vision is to help Student-Athletes acquire academic excellence through sports participation. Our mission is to help them discover, develop and deliver their God given potentials through modern and scientific  sports trainings and competitions, to guide them through their choices of tertiary institutions and help them source for admission/scholarship. Our core values are determination, discipline and dedication,” he added.
Speaking further, he said that if adults all contribute their quota to the development of the future generation the world will be a better place, a world free of teenage involvement in drugs, crime, violence and other forms of anti-social activities.
On achievements recorded by the foundation less than a year after it was founded, he said that several competitions were attended, where the athletes performed excellently.
“We presented athletes to represent Kaduna State at the 3rd edition of National Youth Games in Ilorin, Kwara State, in 2017 and also in 2017 we attended four Athletics Federation of Nigeria (AFN) organised programmes in Abuja and in Kaduna, where some of our athletes got into the finals of 100m, 200m, 400m, long jump and 4x100m relays both male and female,” he pointed out.
Coach Osiebe, who was the convener of the stakeholders meeting noted that some of the challenges facing them include need for training equipment, food supplements, transportation, feeding, man power and medicals.
“At this point kindly permit me to solicit for your partnership in any way possible and you can also appeal to those who are connected to you who can support us to enable the enhancement of our programmes,” he appealed.
“We thank God for how far He has lead us, our sincere  appreciation goes to all our esteem parents who have permitted their children to participate in  our programmes, special appreciation goes to our partners ( The Stadium Manager, Micromanna and The Cavendish School) and special thanks to all our Student-Athletes for their high level of discipline, dedication and determination,” he concluded.
In separate speeches at the meeting, parents and guardians of the children who are being groomed by the foundation praised the founder for his commitment, while praying for God’s guidance and favour.
